About Our Neighborhood
Dupont Circle is a vibrant, cosmopolitan neighborhood with some of Washington, DC's finest museums, historic homes and foreign embassies as well as a variety of ethnic restaurants, boutique hotels, bookstores, and private galleries. Dupont Circle has been attracting travelers from all corners of the globe for annual events such as the Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and for viewing the historic monuments and Smithsonian Museums surrounding the National Mall.
Our neighborhood is the heart of Washington DC nightlife. Restaurants, bars, cafes and music venues are just steps away from Carlyle Suites Hotel. The neighborhood is also home to a wonderful modern art scene and a stop at The Phillips Collection is highly recommended.
Dupont Circle itself is a gathering place with park benches, lawns, and the magnificent white marble Dupont Memorial Fountain in the center attracting everyone from visitors, office workers, sun-bathers, chess players, and assorted passers-by. The fountain was designed by Daniel Chester French, the same sculptor of the Lincoln Memorial.
