By Metro

We are just 3 blocks from the Dupont Circle Metro stop on the Red Line. Use the Q Street/North exit. Turn right as you exit the escalator (this is Q Street) and follow it to New Hampshire Avenue. Turn left and follow New Hampshire to 1731, on the right.

METRO DIRECTIONS FROM UNION STATION (AMTRAK)

• Proceed to the Metro Station from Amtrak trains (Metro is in the same building and you don’t have to exit Union Station).
• Buy a fare card for each passenger* (Your one-way fare from Union Station to Dupont Circle will be about $1.20 and the trip is about 16 minutes).
• Board a RED LINE train in the direction of “SHADY GROVE” or “GROSVENOR”.
• Get off the train at the Dupont Circle Station.
• Exit the station at the front of the train, which is the Q Street exit.
• Ride the escalator to the street level and take an immediate RIGHT onto Q Street.
• Cross Connecticut Avenue.
• Go two blocks on Q Street and turn LEFT onto New Hampshire Avenue.
• Continue 2 ½ blocks to Carlyle Suites Hotel on your RIGHT at 1731 New Hampshire Ave.

*You will need a magnetically coded fare card to ride. EACH passenger must have one. Fare cards can be purchased at any Metro Station. Fare card machines accept $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills but give change in coins ONLY and the maximum change returned is $4.95. Some fare card machines also accept credit cards. METRO DIRECTIONS FROM RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL AIRPORT (DCA)

• Proceed to Metro Station from baggage claim.
• Buy a fare card for each passenger* (Your one-way fare from National Airport to Dupont Circle will be about $1.70 during peak times and $1.20 at all other times and the trip is about 24 minutes).
• Board a YELLOW LINE train in the direction of “MOUNT VERNON SQUARE - UDC.”
• Get off the train at Gallery Place/Chinatown/MCI Center. Do not exit the station.
• Change to a RED LINE train in the direction of “SHADY GROVE” or “GROSVENOR.”
• Get off the train at the Dupont Circle Station.
• Exit the station at the front of the train, which is the Q Street exit.
• Ride the escalator to the street level and take an immediate RIGHT onto Q Street.
• Cross Connecticut Avenue.
• Go two blocks on Q Street and turn LEFT onto New Hampshire Avenue.
• Continue 2 ½ blocks to Carlyle Suites Hotel on your RIGHT at 1731 New Hampshire Ave.

The Carlyle Suites is accessible from all three Washington-area airports.

• Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport: About 5 miles, approximately $15* by taxi or less than $2* by Metro (follow Metro directions, above).
• Dulles International Airport: About 35 miles, approximately $50* by taxi, or $16* by Washington Flyer to the downtown terminal and then about $5* by taxi to the hotel.
• Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI): About 40 miles, approximately $25* by pre-arranged ground transportation. Or take Amtrak to Washington Union Station and then take the Metro’s Red Line to Dupont Circle and follow directions above.

By Car

FROM THE NORTH (I-95) AND BWI AIRPORT

• From BWI Airport, follow signs to I-95 South.
• Continue on I-95 South to I-495 West toward “Silver Spring”.
• Stay on I-495 about 4 miles.
• Take exit “31” which is Georgia Avenue.
• At the end of the ramp take a LEFT turn onto Georgia Avenue.
• Move to the RIGHT lane after exiting.
• Go about 4 blocks and take the RIGHT cutoff to 16th Street. (If you’re in the right lane, you will have to turn onto 16th Street).
• Continue on 16th Street about 7 miles to the intersection of 16th, U Street, and New Hampshire Avenue.
• Take a 45° RIGHT turn onto New Hampshire Avenue.
• Continue 2 ½ blocks to the Carlyle Suites Hotel on your LEFT at 1731 New Hampshire Ave.
  

FROM THE SOUTH (I-95)

• Follow I-95 North.
• At the Capital Beltway take I-395 North toward Washington. In about 5 miles you will pass the Pentagon on your left.
• Continue about ½ mile to the 14th Street Bridge.
• Continue onto the bridge.
• Merge to the LEFT lanes before the end of the bridge. The sign will say “US Route 1 North”. You will come off the bridge onto 14th Street.
• Continue straight on 14th Street.
• Take a LEFT onto I (Eye) Street.
• Go 3 blocks and turn RIGHT onto 16th Street.
• Proceed about 9 blocks, going under Scott Circle, and turn LEFT onto R Street.
• Go 2 blocks and turn RIGHT onto New Hampshire Avenue.
• Go ½ block to the Carlyle Suites Hotel on your RIGHT at 1731 New Hampshire Avenue.

FROM THE EAST (US Route 50)

• Take US Route 50 (West) toward Washington.
• Follow signs for New York Avenue.
• Continue on New York Avenue for about 3 miles. As you go down a long decline, look for the Federal Express building on the right.
• Turn RIGHT onto Florida Avenue at the intersection immediately after FedEx.
• Continue on Florida Ave. It will veer to the left after 9th Street, and become U Street.
• Proceed on U Street about 6 blocks to the intersection of U Street, 16th Street and New Hampshire Avenue.
• Take a LEFT onto New Hampshire Avenue.
• Continue 2 ½ blocks to the Carlyle Suites Hotel on your LEFT at 1731 New Hampshire Ave.

FROM THE WEST (I-66) AND DULLES AIRPORT

• From Dulles Airport, take the “Dulles Access Road” (NOT THE TOLL ROAD) to I-66 East.
• From other points west, take I-66 EAST toward Washington.
• Continue into Washington on I-66. You will see the Kennedy Center on your left.
• Follow the signs for Constitution Avenue.
• Continue on Constitution Avenue about 6 blocks and turn LEFT onto 18th Street.
• Go straight on 18th Street about 15 blocks.
• Go directly across Connecticut Avenue, continuing on 18th Street another 3 blocks.
• Take a RIGHT onto New Hampshire Avenue immediately after Q Street.
• Go 1½ blocks to the Carlyle Suites Hotel on your RIGHT at 1731 New Hampshire Avenue.
  

FROM THE NORTHWEST (I-270)

• Take I-270 South toward Washington.
• At the Capitol Beltway, follow I-495 East towards “Silver Spring/College Park.”
• Do NOT follow signs that say “Washington I-495 West or South.”
• Stay on I-495 about 6 ½ miles.
• Take exit “31B” which says “Georgia Avenue/Silver Spring.”
• Stay in the RIGHT lane after exiting.
• Go about 4 blocks and take the RIGHT cutoff to 16th Street. (If you’re in the right lane, you will have to turn onto 16th Street).
• Continue on 16th Street about 7 miles to the intersection of 16th, U Street and New Hampshire Avenue.
• Take 45° RIGHT turn onto New Hampshire Avenue.
• Continue 2 ½ blocks to the Carlyle Suites Hotel on your LEFT at 1731 New Hampshire Avenue.
  

Parking

The Carlyle Suites has extremely limited complimentary parking in the rear of the building on a first-come, first-served basis. There are other pay parking facilities within a few blocks of the hotel.
